Outlook Express Email Setup
1. Open Outlook Express. At the top, select Tools and when the menu comes up, click on Accounts.
2. When the Accounts window opens, select the Mail tab. Then, click on the Add button at the right, and go to Mail.
3. The
first thing you will be asked for is your name. This is how your name will
appear on the e-mail you send. You can put anything you want, but if you
do not
want people to see your last name, do not put it in. Now
select Next.
4. Next, you will be asked for your e-mail address. That is simply "username@surfersnet.com" as shown below. Select Next.
5. The
next screen has your e-mail server information. Make sure the "My
incoming mail server is a field reads POP3
server". Below that, the incoming mail server is:mail.surfersnet.com
and the outgoing mail server is:mail.surfersnet.com
Select Next.
6.
The next screen contains your logon information. In the "POP
account name" field, put your username. You do have the
option of putting in your password or not. If you do not put your password
in, you will be asked for it each time you logon to your e-mail. Select
Next.
7. The next window is for the "Friendly Name". This is the name under which this set of e-mail settings is listed. Simply name it something simple so that if you ever add e-mail accounts or need to edit this one, you can find it easily. Select Next.
8. Next, select the connection type. Most people will need to select "Connect using my phone line". When you click Next, you will have a field to select your SurfersNet.Com dialer. Select Next again.
9. If everything is set, you will see the screen below. Select Finish.
10. You will be taken back to the Accounts window where the e-mail account you just made will be listed. Select Close down at the bottom and you are all finished.
11. Once you are online, select "Send and Receive" to get your e-mail.
