We understand that cost is more than just the amount you
pay for a product. It also includes the cost of replacement
parts, the cost of potential injuries, and total
replacement costs. The PaceBook is designed to minimize these costs
and your risk in purchasing.
The Cost of Replacement Parts
If you have ever owned a notebook, you know that they are costly to
repair and less reliable than a desktop PC. The PaceBook has designed
several unique features to address these issues:
LCD Screen: The traditional notebook LCD screen is unprotected
and easy to damage. The PaceBook features a 2mm glass touch screen that
protects the LCD screen.
Keyboard: Due to the construction of most notebook computers,
if you spill liquid on the keyboard, you risk damaging the entire computer.
If you spill liquid on the PaceBook, you will only have to replace the
keyboard, at worst. The keyboard is separate from the CPU, so no data
loss occurs when the keyboard is damaged.
Hinges: Notebook hinges often wear out and break easily due
to constant use. The PaceBook has no mechanical hinges to worry about.
Dust: Traditional notebook fans can circulate dust which will
build up in and damage the computer. The PaceBook does not require this
fan to keep the processor cool due to low power consumption, so intake
dust is dramatically reduced.

The Cost of Personal Injuries
We
have become increasingly aware in recent years of computer-related injuries
such as carpal tunnel syndrome, head and neck injuries, eye stress,
and back stress injuries. While some of these injuries are related to
the length of use of a computer, they are also related to the ergonomic
setup of your computer. PaceBook addresses these issues in a number
of ways:
Optimal viewing distance: the monitor and keyboard of the PaceBook
are separate, allowing a viewing distance of 18-24 inches from your
eyes to the monitor.
High resolution screen: your eyes will be able to easily focus
on the XGA resolution screen, which projects objects sharper.
Optimal height and angle of screen: the stand holds the monitor
in the optimal angle, and, when positioned at the right height, can
help reduce neck stress. Additionally, the angle helps to avoid reflections
caused by lighting in the room.
Optimal wrist operation: the thin portable keyboard reduces
stress on the wrist by keeping the hands in the correct position.
Weight: The PaceBook weighs only about 3.75 lbs. as a tablet
and 5.5 lbs. with the keyboard and bag.
